Lindy hop in Brixton
Opened in late 2011, Brixton is one of our newest class nights.
The night is run by Ciana, whose enthusiasm for all things swing is highly infectious!
Initially only a beginners class, Ciana has now added an improvers class too!
What you'll learn
The original swing dance - the Lindy hop as danced in the great ballrooms of the Harlem Renaissance, such as The Savoy.

Join any time. No need to book (just turn up). No partner needed.

7.30pm - beginners Lindy hop class + practice
Learn all the basics with simple fun routines aimed at getting you dancing quickly - with plenty of emphasis on good lead/follow technique and connection as with all Swingland classes! No experience required. Absolute beginners always welcome!
8.45pm - improvers Lindy hop class + practice
Move your dancing up a gear! Here you will learn and improve all the fundamental 8-count Lindy hop steps.
Class rotation
Partners are rotated regularly in the classes so you get a chance to dance with everyone. This is the best way to learn and it's a great way to get to know people too! Even if you do come with a partner, we strongly recommend joining in the rotation - you will learn much quicker!

How to get to Electric Social
Electric Social is at 40 Acre Lane, Brixton, London SW2 5SP.
By tube - Victoria Line to Brixton, 5 minutes walk. Turn left out of the station and walk past Electric Avenue. Turn right into Acre Lane - the venue is on the right just past Trinity Gardens.
By bus - Brixton is served 24 hours a day by a wide selection of buses/night buses, with all the major routes passing outside the tube station. 35, 37, 355 and P5 are best for the venue.
