(This joint is) JUMPIN' is Swingland's monthly Friday night swing dance party at The Bedford - featuring the very best music from top swing DJs! Includes FREE taster dance class in separate room. Look out for occasional live bands, cabaret and dance competitions too! Non-dancers are very welcome so bring your friends to see what swing dancing is all about and how much fun it is!
Formerly called The 2 O'Clock Jump, we have recently changed the opening times to make it easier for those using public transport - hence the name change!

At our monthly dance party you'll find everyone from complete beginners to experienced dancers. Expect great swing music and a fun and friendly atmosphere. Depending on the time of year, anything from 40-100 people attend.
There is no need to book - just turn up.

- 8.15pm Taster swing dance class (in the Map Room)
As regulars to our Tuesday night classes C Jam will know, The Bedford's Ballroom has one of the best dance floors around. Top swing DJs play "the best swing music in town" and are happy to take requests too.
If you're new to swing dancing this is an opportunity to learn a few simple, fun steps to try out later on. You don't need a partner and there is no need to book - just turn up. The class is aimed at absolute beginners.

JUMPIN' takes place every month, usually on the 3rd Friday - please see Dates.

How to get to JUMPIN'
JUMPIN' is held at The Bedford in Balham - one of London's best live music and comedy venues - and home for the last 12 years to our Tuesday night classes and club C Jam!
The Bedford is an amazing Victorian venue incorporating several fully-licensed bars, a wonderful period Ballroom upstairs (where you'll find JUMPIN') - and even a Shakespearean Globe Theatre!

The Bedford is at 77 Bedford Hill, Balham, London SW12 9HD.
By tube - Northern Line to Balham, 2 minutes walk. Turn right out of the station and walk up Balham Station Road. The Bedford is easily visible ahead of you.
By train - Balham (10 minutes to Waterloo or Victoria via Clapham Junction), 2 minutes walk as for tube.
By bus - Buses 315 (Bedford Hill), 355, 249 or 155
By car - Just off the South Circular (A205), Balham is easily accessible by car from all directions. There is plenty of parking in local streets, free after 6.30pm - or use the Sainsbury's car park opposite.

An extensive food menu is available in the main bar (on the ground floor) from 6.30pm - and between 8pm and 9pm on Friday nights you can buy excellent food from the hot buffet upstairs adjacent to the Ballroom (£7 per person).
Grab a drink on the way up from the bar downstairs, which is open from early evening til late.
