STUDIO CLASSES (Sunday afternoons)
Lindy hop workshops for style and technique
As well as our regular club nights, Swingland runs weekly studio classes at Dance Attic Studios in West London, where you can develop your Lindy hop style and technique in a more focused and intensive environment.

About our Studio Classes
We teach the original swing dance - the Lindy hop as danced in the great ballrooms of the Harlem Renaissance, such as The Savoy.
What to expect
You should expect to work hard. Although you will learn some new steps,
our studio classes are first and foremost about technique and style. Like
most things you get out what you put in, so if you concentrate, use the
mirrors and practise what you learn you should expect your dancing to improve
noticeably. A typical studio class attracts between 10 and 25 people.
What are we teaching in these workshops?
We concentrate style on technique
in our studio classes. Technique is crucial to your dancing - enabling you
to dance comfortably with different people at all tempos. Good technique
makes you a more popular dancer and hugely increases your enjoyment of the
dance! Week on week we'll show you some simple ways to make your dancing
look more stylish too!
Requirements
For our studio classes, you need to have some Lindy hop experience. If you
are a beginner we suggest attending a few of our beginners classes (eg.
at C Jam, Swing
Thing, Ealing Hoppers or Swingin'
Sundays) and/or one of our Beginners
workshops at Dance Attic - first.
