Lindy hop workshops

As well as our regular club nights, Swingland runs regular monthly workshops, where you can learn and develop your Lindy hop in a more focused and intensive environment.

These workshops are designed to progress and improve your dancing with in-depth technique and styling points. The numbers are limited so that we can get far more across than in our regular group classes.

"Help! I'm an intermediate - where do I go from here?"

Liza and I are planning a workshop (or series of workshops) aimed at intermediate dancers who want to get to the next level.

If you're interested, read on...

The workshop(s) will include a number of elements, amongst which :-

Connection - what does it *really* mean?
Musical interpretation
Solo Charleston
Improvisation
Hot tempos

...but first we need to establish that this is right for you at your current stage of learning.

So rather than put out an event, let people book and teach whoever turns up (with all the inherent potential problems of mismatched levels, not understanding what we mean by "intermediate" etc.), we'd like to talk to you individually first.

Either drop Martin an e-mail, text me on 07956 952090 or approach me and/or Liza at any Swingland class or event over the two weeks (we are of course usually both at Swing Cellar on Sundays at Brook's) and let's see what we can put together!!

Martin and LizaAbout our Workshops

We teach the original swing dance - the Lindy hop as danced in the great ballrooms of the Harlem Renaissance, such as The Savoy.

What to expect
You should expect to work hard. Our workshops are first and foremost about fundamentals and technique. Like most things you get out what you put in, so if you concentrate and practise what you learn you should expect your dancing to improve noticeably - and rapidly.
