Learn to Swing & Jive - classes every Wednesday!
Hoppin' is Swingland's weekly class for beginners and improvers at WERFA Pavilion in Isleworth, TW7.
You'll learn all the basics of Lindy hop - the original swing/jive dance! There's time for practice after the class too.
You don't need any previous dance experience, and you can start any week. Come on your own, with a partner (but you don't need one), or with friends.
The classes are taught by Martin and Ruth Ellis. Martin founded Swingland back in 1998, and lives locally to WERFA with Ruth and family.
Sorry, no young children or pets.

Hoppin' runs on Wednesday evenings
Class - 7.30pm
Covering all the basic steps and rhythms of Lindy hop (the original swing/jive style from the 1930s, 40s & 50s) - different material is taught each week and the classes are designed so that you can join any time and you can progress without needing to be there every week. No previous experience required.
Practice time
The class runs for an hour - after the class there is time to practise what you've learnt.
Finish time - 8.45pm

Time to practise what you've learnt!£14 (£11 concessions*) in advance or £15 (£12 concessions) on the door. If you live very locally there is also a special offer for WERFA members - £12 (pay on the door).
We accept - credit/debit card or cash.

Booking in advance is entirely optional - you can just turn up and pay on the door. There is no need to book if you'll be using class vouchers.
*Concession prices are valid for current NUS (National Union of Students UK) or Equity/Musicians' Union members - please show your membership card at the door.
Classes start and finish promptly at the advertised times. If you're running a bit late, please do join in and do your best to catch up - but we can't run past the finish time.

WERFA Pavilion, Isleworth
WERFA is located in the centre of The Woodlands Estate, London TW7 (see map below).
WERFA (The Woodlands Estate Resident Freeholders Association) is a community association in the heart of Isleworth - and is a registered charity. WERFA hosts many regular events open to both members and non-members - films, quiz nights, live music, and more. Our workshops are held in the main hall.
By tube - Piccadilly Line to Hounslow East, 15-20 minutes walk.
By rail - Isleworth Station, 10-15 minutes walk.
By bus - any bus to Isleworth Station, 10-15 minutes walk, or to Isleworth Memorial, 15-20 minutes walk - the closest stop to the venue is Woodlands Road, on St. John's Road near the Woodlands Tavern, which is served by the H37 and 117 buses.
Having got to Hounslow East or Isleworth please use this map -
By car - There is a small car park, first-come, first-served, adjacent to the hall - there is also free parking in the local roads around the venue - please be respectful of residents and take care not to block driveways etc.
