Swingland - Safe Space

Swingland classes and events are a Safe Space. We welcome everyone, but will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour.

Safe Space

Thank you for keeping our events friendly, inclusive, and safe.

Swing dancing is a fun, friendly, creative, and inclusive activity. Incidents of unwelcome behaviour are very rare, and will not be tolerated. Such inappropriate behaviour includes, but is not limited to, racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia, inappropriate touching or harassment.

Reporting

We encourage reporting of any unwelcome incidents and will take immediate action as necessary.

Previous bans

By attending any Swingland class or event, you warrant that you have not been barred/banned from any other dance event of any kind, and that you do not have any previous convictions related to racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia, sexual conduct or harassment.

Attending a class or event in contravention of this will result in you being refused admission or being asked to leave immediately, and thenceforth, a lifetime ban.

Right to privacy

We respect your right to privacy both in our venues and on-line.

Filming & photography

No filming/video capture etc. of any kind is permitted inside or outside any of our venues without the prior consent of both Swingland and the venue management.

Photographs may be taken but may not be used for commercial or publicity purposes without the consent of Swingland.

Social dancing

Social dancing is exactly that - we encourage a fun, friendly, and safe attitude. If we see anything we consider unsafe or anti-social we reserve the right to ask those involved to desist, and if necessary to leave.

No dancing is to take place outside the spaces allocated by Swingland - for example, in other parts of, or outside the venue.
