Learn to Swing & Jive - Lindy hop workshops for beginners on selected Saturday afternoons!
Swingland has been teaching in Windsor at The Old Court (formerly The Firestation) for over 15 years.
We teach Lindy hop which is the original form of swing or "jive" dancing.
In our workshops you may join in the partner rotation (recommended as you learn faster), or stick with one partner if you prefer. Advance booking is required. Come alone, with a partner or a friend, or in a group (sorry, no children or pets).
The workshops are taught by Swingland founder Martin Ellis.

This workshop is aimed at those who are looking to kick off their swing dancing (Lindy hop) with a fun and informative workshop, or to consolidate their basics. No partner or previous experience needed. Expect to have lots of fun - and a few challenges! Teachers - Martin and Ruth.

Workshops start and finish promptly at the advertised times. If you're running a bit late, please do join in and do your best to catch up - but we can't run past the finish time.

The Old Court
The Old Court Artspace (formerly known as "The Firestation") is a lovely venue in the heart of Windsor. A combined pub and Arts Centre with very friendly and laid-back atmosphere and fully licensed bar, it is located on the corner of St Leonards Road & St Marks Road. We are in the main auditorium on the ground floor.
The Old Court is at 59 St Leonards Road (corner of St Marks Road), Windsor, Berkshire SL4 3BL.
By train - The Old Court is a ten minute walk from Windsor Central Station (shuttle to Slough with mainline to Paddington, Maidenhead and Oxford) or fifteen minutes from Windsor & Eton Riverside Station (mainline to Waterloo).
By bus - The Old Court is well served by buses to and from Windsor, Slough, Bracknell and the surrounding area. Routes 71, 191, 200, 701 & 702 either go right by us or very near by. Click here for Firstgroup bus route details and a neat interactive route map.
By car - Windsor and hence The Old Court are within easy reach of the M4 (Jct 6) and M40 (Jct 2). There is limited parking in local streets outside the venue (please check signs), but we'd recommend using the Victoria Street multi-storey which is a 5-minute walk from The Old Court.

The Old Court Artspace is a vibrant Arts Centre which has been extensively renovated over the last few years. The bar on the ground floor is open for drinks and snacks (crisps etc.) throughout the evening.
