COVID-19

Swingland takes Covid-19 seriously and has put in place precautions to minimise transmission.

Covid-19 precautions

Updated - 8th January 2022

We need your help to keep Covid out!

Before the event

Lateral Flow Tests

If you're starting out with swing dancing - or returning after the Covid lockdowns - please do get hold of some lateral flow tests. They're easy to use and they're completely FREE. Take a test before coming to a class or dance. Negative - you're good to go (but please don't come if you have any Covid symptoms). Positive - at least you know you're keeping everyone safe by not going anywhere.

Record the results

Keep evidence of your tests - the best way is by entering the results on NHS website. We reserve the right to ask for proof on the door to our classes and events.

At the event

Face coverings

Face coverings are entirely optional but welcome. The government still recommends wearing them "in crowded indoor spaces". We don't mind either way but ask that everyone respect others' choices.

Hand sanitiser

Hand sanitiser is available at the door at our venues and must be used on entry. We encourage using it regularly, especially when dancing with a number of different people.

Ventilation

All our venues are well-ventilated, with open external windows, extraction fans and/or air-conditioning.

Dance rotation/partners

If and with whom you dance is YOUR CHOICE. In our classes, courses and workshops we allow partners or small groups to stay together, or for people to rotate partners if happy. Please tell us beforehand which applies to you (you can do this via our on-line booking, or on arrival). In the dances please don't expect everyone to dance with you - respect their choice and a simple "no I'm not ready to dance with everyone yet" is polite and enough.

Capacity

We limit attendance numbers to substantially lower than capacity for your space and comfort.

After the event

Keep using the lateral flow tests. If you test positive tell us immediately so that we can inform other attendees, and NHS track and trace.

If are fully vaccinated you no longer need to isolate after contact with a positive case.

Stay safe, get boosted, and hopefully this will all be over before too long!
