A-Train is Swingland's weekly Thursday night swing dance and music club in West London, with swing dance classes for beginners and intermediates followed by freestyle dancing.

A-Train is open every Thursday! No need to book - just turn up! Start any time! NB For one week only we will be running on Wednesday 4th August instead of Thursday 5th - due to a major rock band playing the venue on the Thursday. All other weeks - before and after - we are running as usual on the Thursday. STOP PRESS! From Thursday 1st July 2010 we welcome DJ Groove Jackson to the decks on a monthly basis (every first Thursday) On the last Thursday of each month we also feature a fun Lindy hop competition - open to everyone!

About A-Train

We teach the original swing dance - the Lindy hop as danced in the great ballrooms of the Harlem Renaissance, such as The Savoy. We are dedicated to the Savoy style of the dance which is the classic style of choice around the world today. After the classes, top swing DJ's and occasional live bands play the very best swingin' tunes from the past to the present (Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller through to Lavay Smith, Ray Gelato and Royal Crown Revue).

What to expect
A fun night out with a great bunch of people, plus of course informative and entertaining dance lessons! A typical night at A-Train will attract a crowd of between 50 and 80 people from all walks of life, and all age ranges (18+). Swing dancing is an increasingly popular pastime and is probably the most fun you can possibly have keeping in shape! It is very sociable - come with friends, a partner or on your own - everyone is welcome and you'll soon feel at home!
